4.0 out of 5 stars I'm having fun with this!, October 9, 2011

I've been using the Wild Game Innovations camera for a couple weeks now and it's caught lots of small animals sneaking around my place: Fox, Coyotes, and Raccoons so far. I have it set it to only take pictures at night and it seems to start working about an hour before it gets dark, which is OK with me. I have the PIR sensitivity set on "high", and it detects motion out to at least fifty feet. The IR flash is only good out to about thirty feet, though, so when a critter is too far away, all I get is the reflection of its' eyes. For best results at night, the "target" needs to be at a distance no closer than 10' and no further than 30' to get a good photo; Too close and the image is washed out - Too far away and the image is very dark. It should be mentioned that the camera switches to black-and-white at night, but during daylight hours the photos are in living color. There seems to be a 1+/- second delay between detecting motion and the picture actually being taken, so a fast-moving... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Trail Camera, September 28, 2011

I have had this camera for a week now and it has met my expectations. I was using the default settings but I changed them to increase the delay between shots because I had 288 pictures the first 4 days. All 288 pictures had deer, squirrels, racoons, or birds in them. My last camera was too sensitive (on every setting) and I always had multiple pictures of nothing. The daytime shots are in full color with acceptable quality. The evening shots are in b&w with good quality. The IR flash reaches at least 50 ft. I can't report on the battery life yet, but it was showing full after a week. I am very happy and would recommend this camera to anyone.

Wow .... not sure why there are any bad reviews (especially @ $49.99!). Is every picture this camera takes perfect? No, but no kidding! This is a trail camera, not a Canon EOS Rebel. I will spare you all the details of shutter speed and aperture (lens opening size), but when you factor in all the variables (different lighting conditions, night time movement, weather, etc.) this thing delivers! Of course movement at night will be blurry (especially fast movement), and don't point it directly into a rising or setting sun. Remember, it's a TRAIL CAMERA! It takes an experienced photographer, or really expensive camera, or both, to properly deal with those conditions! You will have to spend A LOT more money for a trail camera that stops night time movement to give you perfect pictures. I think most hunters will be very satisfied with the job this "little guy" does! Speaking of that, I love how compact it is, and how it's size and the camo pattern makes it... Read more
